I hope my mom gets a kick out of this story. Actually i think most mom's can relate to it. I tried to zoom in on this picture of Keegan, but I wish now that I had taken a real before and after picture. OK, to say that Keegan has "crazy" hair is an understatement. He has a large swirling cowlick in the back of his head and it makes his fine, straight hair stick up. It is truly unruly at times. So, today, Christmas Eve, I decided to give him a homemade haircut. Now I remember getting these type of haircuts as a kid, and then seeing them in pictures years later. And I'm sure my mother would tell you that I swore when I had kids that I'd never do it. But, back then I did not know what I know now. Which is that kids don't like to get their hair cut, especially from strangers. So, I thought, how hard could it really be? I've been watching people cut my hair for almost 3 decades, so scissors in hand, I cut his hair. And I might add, they were not hair stylist quality scissors. In fact I tried 3 different scissors till I found one that actually cut the hair instead of shreading it. But, overall, I think I did a pretty good job. Luckily he doesn't have bangs, so if it's uneven, you really can't tell. Moral of my story...my Mom did the best she could with a kid that wouldn't sit still, and I thank her for wanting me to look presentable. Or that I could at least see through my bangs. Thanks MOM! Merry Christmas.
