March 28, 2009 "a day at the zoo"
We finally got our day at the zoo. We got to see the giraffes and rhinos and then decided to go over to the kids zone. Keegan loved it! He went right into the water and didn't want to come out. He only got to spend about 20 minutes in the water though because someone had an "accident" in the water and they had to close it down for an hour to clean the water. Keegan was so mad. Luckily they have a fort he could run around in and a sand box area where you could pretend you are a sea turtle. Keegan finished off the day with some vanilla and blueberry swirl "I-ping". It was a really great day.
Late entry for March 26, 2009 "Keira turns 9 months old!"
I must be getting forgetful in my old age. Yesterday, March 26th, was Keira's 9 month birthday. Every month we take a picture of her sitting in this rocking chair. Then we compare how she's changed to the older photos. We did this with Keegan, and it's quite amazing to see the changes they make. She's getting so big. I must also make one comment about Keegan. He went pee pee in his frog (it's a potty that looks like a frog) this morning. Mommy was way more excited than he was. We'll try again tomorrow morning and see if we have any luck. Anyway, Happy Belated 9 month Birthday to Keira!

Keira's getting really good at eating her finger foods. It's been a struggle lately to get her to drink her milk. all she wants to do is eat with her hands.

I got Keegan's inflatable pool out today. He was having a great time until Keira needed to go in the house. He did not want to get out, and that of course resulted in a total meltdown, which included me chasing him around the outside of the house naked. Keegan was naked, not me. I had taken his swimming trunks off and he took off screaming. It was so funny. Anyway, the video shows both KSC's having meltdowns, it was therapeutic for me.
March 22, 2009 "A quick trip to the zoo"
We had a very exciting and busy day planned for the kids today. Our zoo has added a new kids section, with a trickling stream, petting zoo and much more. We had high hopes of spending the morning there and having lunch. But, for the first time in months, it rained. We did get to see the giraffes and rhinos, which are Keegan's favorites. But, we only lasted about 20 minutes before the rain came. Luckily we have a season pass so there will be plenty of other opportunities to come.
Keegan looks so cute in his Cars swimming trunks. We found a ppair of lightening McQueen crocs at Target last night, but mommy didn't buy them. I told him maybe he would get them for his birthday. They would've completed the ensemble.

March 20, 2009 "Bad hair day"
I don't think people truly believe me when I say that Keegan has the craziest hair. This is what it looked like after he layed on the couch for a while. The picture doesn't really do it justice, it's all swirly and bent all through the back. I wonder if they still make Aqua Net hair products, that might hold it down!
March 20, 2009 "She's so close!"
Keira's so close to crawling. She can get herself into the position from sitting, then she rocks there for a while and then either launches herself forward onto her belly or gets herself back into sitting. It won't be long now.
How nice of brother to get all these packages of fruit cups out the pantry and put them on the floor for me to play with. While these photos were being taken of Keira, Keegan was sitting in the pantry pulling all the ziploc bags out of the box. I think maybe he was afraid I was bored and would enjoy picking them up.

March 20, 2009 "Keegan gets new big boy sheets"
For Keegan's birthday he got new big boy sheets. I call them big boy sheets because they don't have a baby theme. They still fit on his crib mattress and will stay on his toddler bed, when we get brave enough to take off the front rail of his crib. They are Cars sheets of course and they're so cute because they have a pillow case, flat sheet, and comforter like a regular bed. He liked laying on his new pillow. I think the new sheets helped him feel better. He looks healthy, doesn't he? I took down some of his nursery decorations, now we just need some Cars stuff to hang on his walls and get new curtains to complete his new room. It's sad to see his baby nursey come down, but exciting to see him becoming a big boy!
March 19, 2009 "Keegan and the Croup"
Well, Keegan had a very bad night. About 10:30pm he started "barking". He had the croup. We had to take him into the bathroom and run the shower so it got all steamy. We set up 3 humidifiers in his room, and I slept on the floor next to his crib all night. By midnight it was like a sauna in his room, but it really helped his breathing. He was still running fever this morning, so I took him to the doctor. His one ear is red, so the doctor gave me antibiotics. But, because he has a strange rash on his leg, she suggested I not start it unless he gets worse. He seems to be feeling better, being sick doesn't really bother him. He's just a little lethargic. I'm afraid Keira's coming doown with it too, she's been sleeping all day and sounds congested. This is the worst time for daddy to be out of town on business. I don't like being alone when the kids are sick. Hopefully they'll both be feeling better soon.

March 18, 2009 "Apple juice and I-ping"
Keegan is sick today, although you'd never know it. He's got as much energy as usual. So far not much of a fever, just a really runny nose. I'm hoping Keira and I don't catch it, especially since daddy will be in Mississippi for work for the next 2 days. I tried to get a good picture of Keira's 2 bottom teeth. They both came through on her daddy's birthday (March 12). This may be the last toothless grin I capture on film.

March 17, 2009 "What a Day"
Keegan hasn't been taking consistant naps lately. So this is what happens around 5:00pm. Even the Cars movie couldn't keep him awake.
Keegan's new passion is playing in the sink. He makes a huge mess, but it keeps him occupied. And it's just water.

Who's the cutest girl? Keira is...thanks to her Auntie Chel's outfit. I can't imagine what her wardrobe will look like once she's physically able to go shopping with Auntie Chel! That should "stimulate" the economy!
