April 29, 2009 "The cutest boy and girl"

I don't know how I got so lucky to have kids this cute! You can only imagine what's going through their minds. Keira's top right tooth broke through yesterday. I can't wait to see what she'll look like with a full set of teeth.

April 26, 2009 "Keira turns 10 months old"

Keira turned 10 months old today. It's hard to believe she'll be a year old in 2 months.

April 25, 2009 "My first kids"

The batteries on both camaras are dead, so these are the last photos I'd taken while there was still life in the camara. It's hard to believe I've had these cats for 9 and 6 six years (Juice is 9 and Ebony and Tag are 6). Right now they are the children that listen to me most and defy me least. Keegan is a full blown toddler with tantrums that could test any parent's patience. Today we tried to take him to the mall where they were having a mini carnival in the parking lot. He really wanted to ride this dragon mini-coaster, but he was too small, and we were too big to ride with him. So he started screaming and throwing himself on the floor like he usually does, and then proceeded to bite and hit me as we drug him through the parking lot to the mall. We attempted to go inside, but the screaming wouldn't stop, even after we strapped him into the stroller. So we ended up going home, he screamed and kicked the whole way, then screamed for another 15 minutes once inside. I feel like a complete failure of a parent. I can't even control a 2 year old, and I have another one that will be a year old in 2 months. It's days like this when I think back to the quiet days when it was just me and my CATS!

April 23, 2009 "The snoot"

Keegan used to make this face, we called it the "snoot". And now Keira makes the same face.

April 23, 2009 "Diaper Rash"

Keira has developed a bad case of diaper rash. So she spent the day diaperless and took corn starch baths. Hopefully it'll clear up soon, it looks awful. And it's hard to keep things "dry and clean" when your 10 month old has no diaper! Thanks Mommom for the advice!

I made her stay in the pack-n-play so she wouldn't pee on the carpet or floor.
I couldn't resist taking this picture, because she looks like a prize-fighter who's ready for a fight. Oh, and she put the blanket around her neck, not mommy.

April 22, 2009 "New sneakers and carpet"

Keegan got new sneakers this weekend. His feet grow like weeds! And we finally got our new carpet installed. Our old carpet was so disgusting, the new carpet is so pretty...and clean!

It even smells new!

April 21, 2009 "Keegan's Garage"

Keegan got this cute little Cars garage for his birthday from his friend Dylan. They both like to hide in it.

April 19, 2009 "Dylan's Birthday Party"

Today we went to a good friends birthday party. Seth and Maria used to live next to us, but moved about 20 minutes away. Their oldest boy turned 4 a day before Keegan. We always love their parties, they go all out. This year it was a spiderman theme, complete with Bouncy houses and a bouncy water slide. Keegan and Keira had a great time.

Keegan's happy, eating strawberries in a diaper on a broken lawn chair.

April 14, 2009 "Keegan's 2 Years Old!"

Keegan's 2nd birthday was a happy one. We had family and a few friends over for cake and ice cream. He played with all his new toys and loved his cake. Daddy had to chase him around the living room to run the sugar out of him.

April 14, 2009 "Our baby turns 2"

Two years ago today, Kevin looked at me with a peculiar face, and said..."I think it's a boy?" The little girl we had prepared for, thanks to some ultrasound tech, was indeed a boy. Keegan Scott is what we named him, and he has been the light of our lives for 2 years. He has brought us joy and contentment and has taught us patience. He has developed into a handsome and loving little boy. Enjoy a look back at 2 years ago, when he was born.
April 16, 2007 we brought him home to his pink room, the name "Keira" still hanging on the wall behind him. It only took us 6 weeks to repaint it blue.

He still looks like this when he sleeps.
