Week of January 21, 2008

Good:
1. Keegan started – kind of saying Da-Da. As well he’s starting to kind of craw backwards. He is doing well. It just blows my mind how fast he is growing. Jen leaves the monitor near him when he takes an afternoon nap in our bed. He has figured out that if he bangs on it when he wakes up we’ll come. That is really impressive – at least to me.
2. I’ve got a lot done on B2’s room – considering my limited time. I painted the base-coat and put up two coats of yellow paint. I also ripped up the old carpet and foam. I forgot, I also picked up the floor boards and a power detail sander to help with the planks that don’t fit as well as we would like. I still have to lay the under layment, and make the under cuts – before my Dad arrives. I was looking for a nail gun to help the chair rail and base board go quicker. I had no idea that most of them are pneumatic. At Lowes they want ~$60 a day to rent the compressor and the gun! I’m not sure what I’m going to do. It wouldn’t be so bad except for the steel studs – they just make everything more difficult. I still need to do a little more research.
3. Jen got some good deals on some baby stuff at Target.

Bad:
1. Jen signed up to work this past Saturday. It went really well for her and us. We survived and she survived as well. It was actually nice for Keegan and I to spend the day together and I’m sure it was nice for Jen to get a little break too.
2. We are still supporting the customer with software support. Well the only person that we had supporting the customer quit. Her last day was last week. When we had our tele-con with the customer they ripped into us for slow rolling their support. Then the support was even worse when we lost our only person. We have a new person identified but he doesn’t know anything so this ought to continue to be interesting.
3. Keegan had a couple fussy moments this week. He got his top front tooth and the other is getting close to pushing through. I’m sure this contributed to his discomfort.

Weeks of January 7 and January 14, 2008

Good:
1. Jen's mom and Shayla completed the Disney Marathon. They did a great job. We were able to meet them for dinner the eve of the race and then we met up with them afterwards. It was really exciting. Jen's mother even posted a personal best.
2. Keegan is really trying to pull up. It is really impressive. I don't think it will be too long before he gets it. In anticipation of him becoming a little more mobile we purchased a baby gate to go in the family room. We still need to re-arrange the room. We plan on moving the nice furniture into the front room and moving one of the couches in the front room to the back.
3. We finally shipped the last unit. I still have a test unit to get out the door. As well the customer is returning one that they noticed a BER issue. I'm not sure it is the unit or their setup. I guess we will see.

Bad:
1. I was really under the weather the last couple of weeks. I even missed a day of work. I'm finally getting to the other side. I still a little congested but it is almost cleared up.
2. Keegan was under the weather as well. He had a high fever and everything. We tried to keep him cool by giving him a bath. He did a great job of dealing with the symptoms. I think I complained more than him and wasn't nearly as sick. As well we thought he might get the croup - because he had a couple croupy coughs - but he beat it.
3. We've moved a bunch of stuff out of the hurricane room but it still manages to still have a bunch of stuff in there. Mind boggling. My dad is coming down in a couple weeks to help me lay the floor - so I better figure it out.

Week of December 31, 2007

Good:
1. We’re pregnant! And everything looks good. It was so exciting to get to see the ultra-sound this time around. B2 was really moving around and you could his/her face and arms and legs.
2 . We went to Once Upon a Child – which is a baby consignment shop. We got Keegan a $60 Leapfrog table for only $20!!! As well we got him a table with blocks and a piggy bank. Jen even got a pair of maternity pants. BTW Jen looks amazing. It is hard to believe that she is almost 12 weeks pregnant.
3. Neil and Kelly had Nadine. We got the opportunity to visit her and she is precious. Every thing went well is we were really excited for them.
4. Tim, Shannon, Bryce, and Shelby stopped by for a little while on Saturday. It was great seeing them. Shelby is really cute and Shannon looks great.

Bad:
1. Keegan’s head size is still in the 5% range and his weight dipped from 50% to 25%. Other than that he was doing very well.
2. Jen hasn’t felt her best the last couple of days. She’s been suffering from a head cold. So far Keegan and I have been fine.
3. I had to go back to work this week. I put in two days. It went okay – however I didn’t make much headway in getting the last couple of units out with many people out.
4. Keegan is getting opinions. Jen has tried to get him to graduate to a new sippy cup and he hates it. As well Jen is trying to introduce him some new foods. He lets you know if he likes them or not. It was funny Jen got out the biter biscuit and as soon as he saw it his eyes LIT UP.
