Week of April 21, 2008

Good:
1. We all went down to the Arts Festival on Saturday morning. We had a nice time - visited with several friends and saw some good art. Keegan was an angel. Afterwards we stopped by Neil and Kelly's to pick up Keegan's birthday present as well we dropped off Dana's birthday present. We visited for a little while – but had to leave – Keegan was ready for his nap.
2. I got the second coat up on the North side of the house. The second coat looks really good. I do wish the process was faster. On the lower 2/3rds I completed the second coat - including trim in about 2 hours. The top 1/3 took me about 5.5 hours. It is really time consuming having to move the ladder. I used about 7 gallons for the two coats. I'm now ready for the next side - next weekend.

Bad:
1. Jen got the opportunity to work on Friday. This was the first time that she has ever worked a full day - during the week - since she had Keegan. Keegan and I did well - he was good. We only ventured out once - to the paint shop. The rest of the day was filled with playing and naps. Jen made out well at work too. Her case load wasn’t too demanding so she was relieved about that. Her back did bother her though.
2. Tag some how escaped yesterday mid to late afternoon. Because he is so reclusive we didn’t notice that he was missing until we went up for bed – around 10:30. We should have known something was up because Juice was barking at the front window during dinner. We just thought he was crazy. Anyway I went looking for him before we went to bed but he was nowhere to be found – which I figured was good that I didn’t see him in the road. We decided to crack the garage door and leave out a bowl of food and water. I got up this morning and got dressed prepared to go looking for him. I looked out the front door and noticed that someone had made a dent in the food we had left out. Then I noticed Juice hanging out in the hole – so I decided to look in the garage. When I opened the door there was Tag. Jen was so relieved – it was great.

Good:
1. Jen and B2 had a doctor's appt on Friday. We all went. She measured perfect - and actually gained some weight - which is great. Her next apt is in 3 more weeks.
2. Jen was able to enjoy her hair appt on Saturday. Keegan and dad had their power morning. We had a good time. I think he enjoyed the visit to the paint shop.
3. I put up the first coat on the north side of the house. It took a couple of afternoons and about 5 gallons. I was able to use our ladder to get the high spots. The ladder stablizer combined with the large bucket of rocks made the ladder very secure. We ended up having to go with the color wheel paint because Berh could not match it well enough. The color wheel paint is actually quite expensive - about $45 dollars more expensive per 5 gallons. The power roller worked great. It uses a lot of paint but it goes quick and puts up a really nice and thick coat of paint.

Bad:
1. Keegan had a fever on Friday. I'm not sure if it was due to a cold or his teeth - because it did appear that he may have cut another tooth. He was drooling up a storm - but he also seemed to have some snot that came out his nose. His schedule is now messed up because he did sleep well on Friday night - he was very unconfortable. He didn't finally really fall and stay asleep until 3:00AM. Last night was better but he still didn't sleep great and didn't get up until after 9:00AM - probably a recent record.
2. I've been under the weather all week. I came down with a fever Sunday night - too much birthday party. The fever went away on Monday however I've been fighting congestion the rest of the week. It is almost all better.
3. Jen is getting close to the third trimester and is starting to feel a little more unconfortable. Her stomach has really blossomed the last couple of weeks - I cann't imagine that feels great.

Weeks of March 31, 2008 and April 7, 2008

Good:
1. We had a birthday party for Keegan on Saturday. It was a blast - as you can see from the videos. He is so cute and amazing. He loved all of his presents - better than the ones that we bought!
2. Seth and Maria invited us to Dylan's Birthday Party. It was a motorcycle theme. It was a lot of fun - good cake and tacos. They even arranged for a real biker to stop by for pictures on his bike.
3. Keegan finally leaned how to use the ball popper it was so cool. He was really getting close and was just going crazy because he couldn't figure it out. This morning I noticed he had figured it out and was pressing the red button and putting the ball on the track - that's my boy.

Bad:
1. Jen and I missed our anniversary. I was in DC for a show for work. I got back very early Thursday morning. Jen and Keegan were nice enough to pick me up in Orlando after the nightmare travel challenges.
2. We had another 2.5 hour meeting on the house paint. I think we finally reached an agreement. I'm still burned by the whole situation - but at least we can now move forward.
3. Getting the party together was stressful - but we still had a good time.

Week of March 24, 2008

Good:
1. Jen had her B2 doctor's appoitment. It went well - July will be here before you know it.
2. On Saturday we finally got to see the entire Zoo in one visit. The weather was nice and Keegan had a good time. He really started inspecting all the different animals. He really liked the Red Wolves. They did have a bob-cat but he was smaller than Diesal aka the Juice Man.
3. Jen and I watched a couple good movies. They are completely on the opposite spectrum - Reno-911 and Glory Road. Glory Road was a really great movie - though the race conflict was quite distrubing.
4. Keegan got an early birthday present. We found both the little Piano and Learning Puppy at Once Upon a Child. At Target those items cost about $35 - we got them both for $10.
5. Jen had dinner with Yami and Donna. That allowed Keegan and I to hang out - definetly I got the better deal.

Bad:
1. Keegan came of age at Sports Authority. He was playing with a power bar and I took it away. He cried bloody murder. It was the first time someone commented on his behavior.
2. We went to take a test drive to check out the Toyota Highlander. We decided we're too broke. We figured it was better to pay off Jen's student loans - so we'll have to count on the Focus for a while longer.
3. Jen and I continued our work on "restoring" our shower. I had to replace a couple tiles that had come loose. We need one more round of caulk and then we should be good to go.
