December 30, 2008 "Fully Loaded - daddy's in charge"

This video was shot today after mommy got home from work. I might add that when you watch it you'll see that Keegan is perfectly happy with the situation. I laughed so hard I cried when I watched it.

December 28, 2008 "A crazy day"

Saturday was a crazy day. I'm not sure what possessed us to even attempt it, but we decided to go to the outlets in Orlando on the Saturday after Christmas. And of course it was a beautiful, 80 degree day outside to boot. So, everybody and their brother also decided to go to the outlets as well. It took us almost 2 hours to get there because we couldn't remember where we put the Epass, so we had to wait to pay to go thru all the tolls. You can imagine what a 2 hour car ride witha toddler and baby was like, so I won't go into detail about that. We finally get there and it's lunch time. So, I squeezed between the 2 carseats in the backseat to feed Keira her bottle and was left partially deaf in my left ear from listening to Keegan scream about wanting out of the car. It took a half an hour to find a parking space all the way behind the stores. So, we finally get to the shopping part of the day, we're really only looking for 2 things: shirts for daddy and sneakers for Keegan. We found cool sneakers at Stride rite, but the store was filled with screaming kids strapped in strollers that didn't want to try on shoes. Our son would fit into this catagory as well. But he was pretty excited about his new shoes. Daddy was not so successful with his shirts, no v-necks, only crew. Oh well, they really weren't on sale anyway. Actually to be quite honest nothing was really on sale. We expected some great deals, but were sadly disappointed. So after spending only about 2 hours there, we left and came home with one pair of shoes that ended up costing the same as if we'd paid full price at the retail store after you add in all the gas and tolls. Why do we do this to ourselves?
"Check out my fancy new sneakers!"

"Keegan, I was playing with that!"

December 24, 2008 "Christmas Jammies"

Buying Christmas jammies for a boy and girl can be quite challenging. You want them to match but not make Keegan look like a girl or Keira a boy. So I went with a snow theme this year. I think they look pretty cute. Our Christmas Eve started out good. We managed to get to go out to eat and Keegan and Keira both behaved very well. But, we should've known Christmas Eve service at church would push one of them over the edge. In this case it was Keegan. We stayed about 15 minutes and then he melted. So we ran out about 5 minutes into the service. We're not sure what we're going to do next week when Keira gets baptised. We'll see. We ended the day with the reading of "The Night Before Christmas in Florida", courtesy of Mommom and Poppop. Can't wait till tomorrow morning! Stay posted for more pictures and video.

December 24, 2008 "A story for mommom"

I hope my mom gets a kick out of this story. Actually i think most mom's can relate to it. I tried to zoom in on this picture of Keegan, but I wish now that I had taken a real before and after picture. OK, to say that Keegan has "crazy" hair is an understatement. He has a large swirling cowlick in the back of his head and it makes his fine, straight hair stick up. It is truly unruly at times. So, today, Christmas Eve, I decided to give him a homemade haircut. Now I remember getting these type of haircuts as a kid, and then seeing them in pictures years later. And I'm sure my mother would tell you that I swore when I had kids that I'd never do it. But, back then I did not know what I know now. Which is that kids don't like to get their hair cut, especially from strangers. So, I thought, how hard could it really be? I've been watching people cut my hair for almost 3 decades, so scissors in hand, I cut his hair. And I might add, they were not hair stylist quality scissors. In fact I tried 3 different scissors till I found one that actually cut the hair instead of shreading it. But, overall, I think I did a pretty good job. Luckily he doesn't have bangs, so if it's uneven, you really can't tell. Moral of my story...my Mom did the best she could with a kid that wouldn't sit still, and I thank her for wanting me to look presentable. Or that I could at least see through my bangs. Thanks MOM! Merry Christmas.

December 18, 2008 "Keegan dances to Christmas lights"

Mommom sent us this video a few weeks ago and Keegan loves to watch the lights and listen to the music. Today he decided to dance as well. We would also like to send out a big congrats to our friends Alpha female, Alpha male, Thing 1, Thing 2 and Gauss Pontificates on the announcement of Thing 3 to come. J and the KSC's are very excited for them and can't wait to meet him or her in June!

December 17, 2008 "Keegan's Kitchen"

This is Keegan's Christmas present. It took mommy over an hour to put it together, but it was worth it. I can't wait to see his face on Christmas morning.

December 15, 2008 "Keegan gets real Crocs"

Keegan got his first pair of real Crocs today. He's had a few generic versions, because his mom refused to pay $24 for rubber shoes. But, these were on sale at Dillard's and his generic ones are giving him blisters. So, he put them on himself when we got home. He likes wearing shoes...not so much with pants though.

He likes that they have mickey mouse heads for holes, and that they're Terp red.

He thought this looked like a good idea.

December 14, 2008 "Christmas Lights"

Tonight we took the kids through local neighborhoods to look at the Christmas lights. Keegan is so cute, he says "ooooooo" when he sees the lights.

This was taken from inside the car. Keegan is mesmerized by the Christmas lights.
