All is "well" October 17, 2008

The kids are back to normal today. Keegan had a rough night, but after a dose of Motrin, his fever subsided. This morning no fevers, although Keegan still has a runny nose and cough. But, he felt well enough to go on a walk to the playground. He's getting to be so smart. When he hears an airplane, he points to the sky and mumbles a word that sounds similar to "plane". He does the same thing with tractors. Although when he says "tractor" it sounds just like his word for cracker and cookie, so it's quite possible he just wants a cracker or cookie and doesn't really recognize the tractor at all. He had fun today running through the spinklers at the playground. Or more like running away from the spray of the sprinklers. None the less he was wet and covered in sand and dirt, requiring a bath when we got home.

We're attempting to try new sippy cups for the millionth time. I'm trying to teach Keegan to drink from a cup, like a real cup. But he has a lot of trouble because he's been using straw cups for so long, that he won't hold the cup up to allow the fluid to flow into his mouth. Instead he keeps his head down and sucks through the hole and gets mad when nothing comes out. I've been trying to use psycology and praise him for being a "big boy" and call it the "big boy cup". So far, limited success.
